Agada Elachi is a practicing lawyer called to the Nigerian bar. He holds a doctorate degree in Public Policy and Administration specializing in Terrorism, Mediation and Peace (Walden, U.S.A), and a Masters degree in Law. He has substantial experience in litigating cases before all levels of courts in Nigeria.
Agada is an ADR expert with a bias for mediation and arbitration. He holds the fellowship of several professional bodies including the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC, Nigeria) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). He also holds a diploma in international commercial arbitration. He is a certified trainer in Arbitration, Mediation and dialogue processes.
As mediator, he has been engaged in the resolution of a broad range of disputes such as commercial matters generally, banking and financial matters, inheritance and testamentary issues, and family mediation just to mention a few. He is also a certified professional in managing workplace conflict.
As arbitrator, he is experienced in handling a wide range of issues including but not limited to defence contracts, power/energy contracts, construction contracts, oil and gas, environment preservation and management contracts, financial matters, and real estate development matters.
He is on the panel of Panel of Neutrals of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre, Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre, Nigerian Communications Commission, Federal High Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre, and several multi-door courthouses.
Agada is a member of several professional bodies including Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution and the African Arbitration Association. He has served in different capacities within and without the professional circle. He is also actively involved in researching, writing, and speaking locally and internationally.
He is the President of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and is a life member of the governing council of ICMC. He also served as Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja branch and in several other positions within the profession.
