He was formally director of international Case management at the Secretariat of CEATEC and a member of the awards scrutiny team. He was a resident hollering international fellow with the American arbitration Association ICDR in New York

Dr Chen a member of the International Counsel for Commercial Arbitration, the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the China Society of International Economic Law and the China Maritime law Association.
He has published numerous Learned articles on arbitral matters in international journals and is a column author on arbitration for LexisNexis Website since July 2016. He has held numerous distinguished academic posts and is Guest Professor of Lawyers College, Remin University of China
Dr Chen has drafted over 500 arbitral awards, scrutinized over 1000 international awards，participated UNCITRAL conferences 8 times as an expert representing China, spoke over 100 times at various international and domestic conferences, seminars and training sessions on commercial arbitration.
