Dr. Jian Chen

Currently: Vice Secretary General, Shanghai Arbitration Commission and full-time standing deputy secretary general of the China Academy of arbitration law. He was formally director of international Case management at the Secretariat of CEATEC and a member of the awards scrutiny team. He was a resident hollering international fellow with the American arbitration Association ICDR in New York

He is listed as an arbitrator of CIETAC (From 1999 on), China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Asian International Arbitration Centre (2016), Cambodia National Commercial Arbitration Centre (2016), International Court of Arbitration Kyrgyz Republic, Thai Arbitration Centre, Bangalore International Arbitration Centre, Arbitration Commissions of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Nanjing, Qingdao, Dalian, Hainan, Shjiazhuang, Langfang, Harbin, Shenyang, etc. a member of the Panel of Experts of CIETAC Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (from 2004 on), a listed conciliator of the Conciliation Centre of China Chamber of International Commerce (from 2002 on)

Dr Chen a member of the International Counsel for Commercial Arbitration, the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the China Society of International Economic Law and the China Maritime law Association.

He has published numerous Learned articles on arbitral matters in international journals and is a column author on arbitration for LexisNexis Website since July 2016. He has held numerous distinguished academic posts and is Guest Professor of Lawyers College, Remin University of China

Dr Chen has drafted over 500 arbitral awards, scrutinized over 1000 international awards,participated UNCITRAL conferences 8 times as an expert representing China, spoke over 100 times at various international and domestic conferences, seminars and training sessions on commercial arbitration.
